It's a Blast!!!
I have so enjoyed my time helping the 5th grade! The kids are so much fun and Mrs. Murdaugh has taught me a lot. It is also fun being able to actually teach the kids. The more experience I get, the more prepared I will be. From this experience, I still feel so excited about pursuing a career in Elementary Education. Thank you Mrs. Murdaugh for the opportunity!!!

love it
Personally, don't tell the other teachers but this is my favorite elective. I seriously can't wait til Tuesday and Thursday 6th period. =]
I have been observing, grading here and there. And... the other day Mrs. Hooten surprised me by making me read Greek mythology to the class. I have no problem being up front, or being put on the spot but I couldn't say half the words in the story. O well, hope the kids liked it.
I love my class, I call them "my kids" but I guess you love every class that you have, I guess it's not like being in high school were you have that one class you dread (not that we have those at our school).
Anyways, I'm probably rambling but I really do enjoy being in the class environment and being able to observe Mrs. Hooten and see aspects of teaching that I had never thought about before.
Especially how to make your planner all nice and pretty and smelling good. ;)

Way to Go Sarah Jane!
I love having Sarah in my classroom! I wish EVERY day were Tuesday or Thursday, not because I look forward to my free trip to the bathroom, but because she is precious and I am loving the little bit of discussions we are able to have in between lessons. So far, she has skimmed through all my teacher's guides and looked at my "survival notebook" that I use to organize my plans/documents for the week. She has also graded a few papers, organized a LOT of papers, observed some okay lessons as well as a few bad ones. Sarah is now in charge of changing the classroom jobs every other Monday morning and keeping the record of that for the year.
I look forward to mentoring her this year and pray that she enjoys her time in fifth grade.
